Wow not what I thought I'd be reading here Seconded. Maybe taking some time to get yourself together is far more important than any car or swap, Justin. Do what's best for you in the long-term. Good luck and godspeed! -------------------- Has no more Celicas

I dropped off the 4runner flywheel today for machine work. It then gets bolted to the engine with the transmission and clutch. Basically, I will have a complete 1MZ swap for sale ready to go. I don't know realistically how much the swap is worth perse, but maybe someone can find some value in it.
I found out how the Celica was towed, and it was illegally done. I am in possession of the title, and the vehicle is registered to the address where I legally reside (and am also a part-owner of). I am in talks with the appropriate parties, and IF I can find a place for the car, I will get her back. It's obvious neither I nor my cars or tools are wanted at my residence, so this is where we stand. I am in utter shock still. I'm sorry guys, I failed you all as well. |

And there is a time where it pays to have good karma.
I located the car, and was able to retrieve her with no issues. The car is going to my uncle's house, where she will have a nice warm bedroom. I do have another issue however. My harness builder has gone MIA with my harness. A setback, yes, but I will get it done nonetheless. Manny, Dustin, and Stef came through Sunday, and it gave me that shot in the arm I needed. So yes, she will be completed, but I'm not rushing it. I have now set a goal of completion by spring including bodywork. |

I think she's liking the digs a bit. Got to clean her out last night, interior is pretty much metal and a dash. What a crapton of gunk there was! The carpet is now tan again, it was oozing brown juices, same with the headliner. Also filled up a shopvac with crap from UNDER the carpets. Did find $50 under the carpet though, which bought Arby's and beers for the crew
Next step is all damaged body panels will be removed and my rust free joints put on. Pretty soon she'll be a skeleton. |

Staying busy and focused on the car is the name of the game right now. I now more than likely need to pull out of my ass $700 for a conversion harness, which is pretty much bodywork money I had allocated. Frustrating, yes, but it's only money. I might even attempt to do the harness myself and see where that goes.
I hope to at least drive her before winter, so that way I have that little taste of awesomeness to hold me over. Big shouts to my uncle though, dude is a beast. Heading there now to possibly mate the engine and transmission, and drop the whole shebang in! |

You can do the harness yourself if you have both schematics and lots of patience.

Aren't Dustin an steff good with wiring?? Might see if they would help tackle that job I do have spare harnesses. I just don't want to spend $700 to get it done, that puts me at almost $1000 for wiring. At this point, I think it safe to say I CANNOT reccomend MrWizard for harnesses at this time. What a shame, because his work is top-notch |

why don't you just buy a lightweight flywheel? it'd probably be worth your while.
Oh, and did you check to make sure that the starter will work with that flywheel? The offset could be different on it, and it might be bigger/smaller than the stock so you'd have to mod stuff to get it to work. |

I can put 12v to it tonight or tomorrow once bolted up and see before I throw it in the car. A lightweight flywheel is prohibitively expensive at this point unless the 4runner flywheel doesn't work. Not being cheap perse, but Iwant to see if there' lower-cost options. |
