Recently noticed under my drivers side floor mat is pretty damp when I go to vaccum it. I do have a sunroof if that makes a difference or not. Would like to get this fixed before rust sets in..any help is appreciated!

hmmm also there is the possibility of the heater core up under the dash. I haven't taken one apart on the Celica so im not sure exactly where it sits, but I know the heater core hoses come through the firewall on the driver side. So you might have a leak in the heater core.
which is bad news, pretty much have to take the whole dash apart to get to it.
have you noticed losing any coolant?

When I removed the carpeting from mine it was damp under all of the carpet due to the padding material toyota put under it and it took it about a week to dry with it pulled from the car. Could just be retained moisture, use a heat gun or blow dryer on it if you can roll that section of carpet back. All you need to do is remove the kick panel trim, door sill and foot pad, then it will be free to be pulled up a little.

Not ruling out that it could be the heater core, but if you start to smell antifreeze when your pulling up the carpet it could be a leak there. However mine did not have a heater core leak and it was damp as well, just at some point it got wet and the carpet padding held the moisture.

if your car is a manual, double check the lines that runs from the master cylinder to the slave....site location specifically at the master, because I had a small leak, wasn't noticeable but it build up. The other sign was my clutch keeps sticking to the floor, even though I have changed my slave and master a couple of times...pull the rug out and wipe everything dry...let it sit a day and see if they is a leak anywhere that could be drizzling down or creating any pool of liquid at the driver location.
