Hello everyone!

I've just purchased a Gen 6 Toyota Celica 2.0 GT (Import) 16v DOHC.

I've always been into Diesel turbo tuning so this is a completely new area of discovery for me!

I've attached some photos, any comments are welcome!

I also have a couple of questions:

- Whats the engine code for these (so I can do some background reading, waiting for reg doc to arrive so cant check).
- What MPG do these do if driven sensibly.
- What are the most cost effective modifications on a BHP per £1 ratio.

Sorry if these are very commonly asked questions.

Thanks for reading. smile.gif

Hi and welcome

In the engine bay you'll see a plate on the firewall that looks something like this

or this

Going off your pictures etc, you either have a 1994/5 ST202 Celica: Japanese SS-II or a UK GT. I think its most likely to be a SS-II as the UK spec ones didn't get climate control afaik.

If you want you can post your model code and axle/transmission code to confirm

Has a 3rd Gen 3S-GE looks like this

Not too sure about MPG, but they do alright

After doing your general maintenance, I'd start with allowing the engine to breath better
Intake: cold airbox, cold air intake, or short ram intake (but make sure you have some sort of heat shield)
Exhaust: the extractors are pretty good already, cat-back exhaust system

after that the best gains come from
Uprated Cams and programmable computer

and weight reduction

or as everyone else would say, just put a GT-Four ST205 3S-GTE turbo engine in

This is exactly the sort of reply I was looking for. Thanks for taking the time to reply with such detail Rusty.

How do I add Rep to you?

Again, many thanks!

no worries smile.gif

We don't have a rep for general thanks etc, but we do have one which is used for our buy & sell section.

Should have also mentioned this before about the sticky threads, which are at the top of each section and hold heaps of info threads, how to's and part lists.

For engine related stuff see The NA performance & Engine and transmissions maintenance thread and scroll down to the 3S-GE part.

I love that steeringwheel. I thought I'd just say that. Unfortunately it looks as if it's tearing?
