bi-metal vacuum switching valve IIRC. it should run to the EGR and the charcoal canister I think...

Check out ebay, they're usually kicking around there. It's a EGR VSV. It tells the EGR when the car is warmed up and when it should open/close. I broke mine while changing my distributor cap and rotor a year ago and found one for cheaaap on ebay.

yeah the dealership sells those things for around $50. it's the most common thing to break on toyotas. every time i hit the junk yards those are the first things i look for.
