So my gf's celica st speedometer is not working. All the other gauges work fine. I replaced the speed sensor with a brand new one thinking it was that but its still not working any ideas?

But the speedometer isn't working, which is what I'm getting at. If the speedometer was working then replacing the speed sensor would have fixed this. Assuming of course the speed sensor has power to it and no wires are damaged or fuses blown. But hey, what do I know?

it could be something in the wiring cause i tried to bypass the whole governor thing with the speed to only realize that i cut the wire that makes the speedometer work. luckily i had it on a switch lol

Lil-joe101,, so she got the car like that? as in the speedo not working, and am i to assume correctly that she got the celi from Mkernz22? so also to assume that to be true. that the wires were cut?
with these assumptions.. this is my question. when she got the car were the wires just cut (as in not reatached), and any of them left just hanging?

thing i am getting at is that if the car changed hands wile there were cut (and un-reassembled) wires there is a very good chance that it is the wires that are the problem, and not the actual speedo gauge, or the sensor...

good luck.
