I've already purchased the "hose from hell" for the oil cooler, but I've been thinking about what possible replacement options I can use in the future when I need another one. Two things have crossed my mind, high-temp rubber hose (that I can't seem to find with a 90 degree angle) or a silicone hose with a 90 degree bend.

The two options I can think of are either 275 degree rubber hose from Grainger.com or possibly a 90 degree silicone hose(also comes in blue!). The problem with the first link is it is not a 90 degree hose, so it will kink if you try to make it bend, plus I don't think that the 275 degree limit is high enough to protect from the exhaust temps from the nearby header. Also with the grainger hose, it's a 3/4 inch hose, I think the "hose from hell" is 5/8 diameter. The second link is a 90 degree bend silicone hose, and it is rated at 350 degrees. This temperature is better, but average exhaust temps are around 400 degrees. I know the hose won't see the full 400 because it is around a foot from the exhaust, but I'm wondering what approximate temps it would see. This hose is not even $20. What do you guys think? Anyone done this?

heat wrap the hose you buy.

I have the stock one, and it's already heatwrapped. Heatwrapped silicone hose might last very very long now that I think about it.
