Hi guys, just recently did the headgasket on my mates 5th gen with a 3sge, ran fine, idling a little low but is running good until yesterday while driving the battery light comes on along with what im guessing is the overheating light looks like:
sss
=[]=

The 's'es are supposed to be squiggly lines.

No engine codes, serpentine belt isnt broken, as far as i can see all the pulleys are turning...

Any ideas??

Also the light that looks like the car with lights on is on.

thats the catalytic converter temp sensor.

if it comes on when you first start the car, it could be a faulty sensor. But if the warning light comes on when driving the cat could be blocked.

heres a pic I found on google. bonus its even a celica.

* the oil light should be oil pressure, not oil level.

Thankyou rusty, I knew you would comment! tongue.gif you = 3sge.

So it seems strange to me that the rear lights go at the same time as the cat (possibly) sensor. Could this be a short somewhere?

its your alternator dieing, the other lights come up because they rely on seeing 12v+ which obviously your alternator isnt putting out. replace that alternator before you get stranded somewhere.

(from identical experience)
