I'll just break it down like this:

I start my car and my belt squeals. I let my car run about a couple minutes and then drive about 1 mile to the highway (it squeals the whole time). I get on the highway and eventually within about 2 more minutes, it will stop squealing. About 20 minutes later I slow down for EZ pass and it starts to squeal again. Then I take off after passing through EZ pass and it stops. I make it another 10 miles and finally slow down to a couple lights. It starts to squeal again and will squeal whenever it decides to after I get off the highway.

Sometimes at a light it will stop. Then when the light turns green, I take off and it squeals until I get into 3rd gear. Then it stops and will come and go.

If I park my car for less than 2 hours, it squeals again at start up immediately.

It doesn't matter if I am turning or not...it will sometimes squeal and sometimes not.

My belts seem dry and I am not losing any fluid. WHAT THE HELL?????

And that too. Sometimes on cold starts it'll squeal until warmed.

Alternator belt 100% lol. I had the pleasure of getting the squeals this winter only to find that my alternator bracket sheared a bolt near my water pump laugh.gif .

just replace the belt, cheap easy fix. Or for an even cheaper temporary fix, rub the butt end of a candle on the belt as it is spinning to see if it stops squeaking. This also helps to determine which belt is actually squealing if there was any doubt

Since its cheap, I would replace the power steering belt while as well. That way you know 100% that you've replaced both belts, know neither will snap while you're driving down the road, and can ensure that the squealing will be gone regardless of which belt it is.
