I have a 1997 Toyota Celica GT.

Everytime I turn off my car after it has been driven while it's warm. It always has clicking or dripping noise after I turn it off. I noticed it does the same thing with my fathers 97 camry le(same engine as mine). Is this normal? Or is there something else?

To a minor degree all internal combustion engined cars click after they are shut down. The exhaust system, which was at 500°-1,000° starts to cool and as metal cool its contracts. So the ding and click noises you hear are usually the metal exhaust relieving tension.

Some of it is oil dripping from the inside of the engine and hitting the windage tray, some of it is the engine/exhaust metals cooling and connecting joints popping.

I actually have an oil leak somewhere I don't know. I replaced my Valve cover gasket and it stoped MOST leaks but it still leaking somewhere from under the engine. The top doesn't have oil leak no more. Might be what you said. Thanks.

what I said is normal. It's not something to fix. The windage tray is a curved piece of thin flat metal that is inside the engine. The sound you hear is the oil dripping down the inside of the engine and hitting it. It's perfectly normal, all engines with a windage tray have this sound. You can hear it on almost every car when it's turned off.

Yea. Now I noticed I have an axle leak on my front passenger side. I'ma have to fix that soon. redface.gif
