This is going to bug me now. I seem to remember mine looking slightly larger, but the time frame between when I removed them and when I finally got working speakers put back in was almost a year. I have no idea what I did with the originals. http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showto...l=premium+audio 8 in mid maybe? not an 8 in subwoofer... but who knows... Looks like I need to find me some stock 8in speakers lol None the less, if he gets a set of the door panels he can fit a quality 8 in speaker in there. A decent 8inch should be able to handle low or full range regardless, at least whatever the stock amp is pumping out. |

The part number tells the outer diameter, both at 8.1". Not really helpful for determining the size of the woofer. However, there's one very easy way to end any debate. Someone with an 8 speaker system... ahem, Trace... can turn their radio on and listen to the lower speaker. Regardless of whether it's a factory woofer or replacement mid that's in the door, the factory amp will still send the same signal so if that speaker plays only bass, then it was intended to be a factory sub.

might explain why my 6.5" replacement speaker in the passenger door is very quiet
But the stock 6spkr from 6.5 I put in the driver door is pretty loud? maybe bad wiring.... or maybe a speaker that has a mid in it trying to put out the bass .... would make sense cause even my stock 6.5 in the drivers side doesn't have any mid too it whatsoever... hence the job of the 4" speaker. -------------------- |
