Hello,
So I bought a gt4 bumper and hood and had them installed, I thought if you bought both this would eliminate the gap problem, however there is still a one inch gap I don't like. I read the sticky over the conversion but couldn't find an answer So can anyone tell me exactly what I would need to do to close this gap? |

did you use the stock upper support bar?
The gt-four upper bar is higher in the center than regular ST/GT's. If you decide to get the gt-four support bar it needs to replace the existing one. It bolts in the center and welds on the ends.Otherwise, you can use custom spacer brackets or long bolts and have the bumper retainer clamped between the head of the bolt and a nut. Idk if ur profile pic is the hood you're talking about or not but that's not a gtfour hood.
If you did get the gtfour hood then check what spy00005 said. |

actually after looking at his profile pic it looks like he had a gt4 bumper with a stock hood. if that is the case then the bumper might have been molded to fit stock hood because bumper would be higher than stock hood, don't know of their is anything you can do if that is the case. maybe mold it back in place.

I had a gap when I did my conversion. I welded an extra inch to my hood latch and put spacers and longer bolts on my upper support bar to get rid of my gap.

Sorry forgot to mention I had my gt4 bumper placed first, by a local body shop that is no longer in business
I put my gt4 hood on about 2 weeks ago myself, and have not uploaded pics cause I don't like the gap Which one do u think would be easiest or the work best? Im sure they used the existing support bar Thanks for the help guys |

basically have 2 choices you can make custom spacer brackets or long bolts and have the bumper retainer clamped between the head of the bolt and a nut.
scroll down to part 6 unless you wanna spend the extra cash and get the actual upper support bar. either way if its on the stock support bar the bolts are pushing the center of the bumper further down in the and that's why you have the gap This post has been edited by spy00005: Apr 30, 2012 - 3:26 PM -------------------- *Thing i want for my car(i wish i had money)*

get a longer bolt and put a nut in between to hold it up or just get a long bolt and use a tihick rubber spacer.

I will try the longer bolt and if that doesn't work probably the spacer brackets
Hopefully they didn't mold the bumper or mod it too much upon installation once again, I appreciate the help |

That looks like a good idea as well.
I'm waiting until I can take the hood latch to get welded an inch higher (like the thread said) before i try to close it But when i was trying it and put the longer bolts with the spacer it felt like the top of the bumper was flexing a little to much right at the middle part where I was trying to raise it.... has anyone else gotten this? |
