That is a perfectly good point Mkernz =P

Not a fan of wrap, they complete wrap vehicles where I work, and it always is horrible and starts to come off after a few months.

Don't think I'll be leaving it this way more then a year and half.

Personally...I hate carbon fiber...unless its real, and its inside the vehicle.

Wrap on the inside is ok. Real carbon fiber would be cool, hate to know how much it'd cost though in comparison to 3M wrap.

Found 2 spare cans I had left over, and got a wild hair. Since the front bumper was one of the worst areas, figured I'd tackle that first.

Some overspray protection

The result 3 coats later.

I'm iffy on the results, but either or, its better then the previous paint. I may have to acquire a sprayer for the remainder of the car....

Either that or use the knowledge I have, instead of ignore it, and not do it in direct sun light.

And when I'm finally done, I'll pull out the good camera to give you guys a good outlook on how its going to be.

Lol thanks. Yea that bra look is certainly there.

After finishing the bumper it is now bugging me, I want to do the rest now. Seeing that took 2 cans...I have a feeling I'll need 22 more, and I don't think Home Depot has that many in stock...we'll find out when funds arrive.

Very nice biggrin.gif

Not to thread jack, but wanted to add that I went out and bought a can of white plasti dip to test out, as in how it will hold up to Arizona dry-heat weather.

I'm glad to say that after a day of 110 degrees it looks good so far!

Ask and you shall receive!

As you can see, the rattle can spray effect is certainly there. It was semi expected, but not to this extreme. I think humidity played a large effect in the setting of the paint.

No biggie, going to spray some smaller items in the same temps, let it cure, and try multiple high grits of sandpaper to smooth it out, then a layer of clear to ease the cleaning.

Though it looks ghetto and cheap...I still like it better than the red.

For some reason as I look at the pictures, the projectors are giving me a pissed off look as in "wth were you thinking"

My buddy has his S4 done completely in plastidip..red for the main body parts and the roof, hood, trunk and wheels in black...it looks pretty badass. Hes had it on there for a good 9 months (including winter) and still looks as good as day 1.

I did this recently to my 4th gen.

I used a Wagner spray gun combined with a gallon of plastidip+thinner.

Came out nicer than I thought it would.

Here is what she looked like before.

Yea I will be doing the same after doing the hood with the rattle cans, I'm not happy with the extra work and the way the spray laid.

Figured if it went south I'd do as you mentioned above, and just get the whole car done in one shot, right.

Could you share your mix ratio of thinner to paint please?
