The bolt will not tighten, so I either have a messed up bolt, too short of a bolt there... or it's stripped out. Anyone know how I can get myself an extra inch or 2 of clearance past that beam so that I can figure out what I'm working with? -Nate Remove the 2 front bolts of the crossmember, as well remove the rear nuts holding the rear mount and exhaust mount. This will allow the crossmember to drop forward giving you some clearance. The engine & trannie should stay up with the driver and passenger side mounts keeping it up. Don't force or twist the crossmember to much, as you could tear your rear mount up. This post has been edited by rave2n: May 23, 2012 - 7:50 AM |

good deal! was about to suggest what rave2n said...im so glad my trans is DONE! and looks so purdy with all the nice silver and black paint.....for all whos wondering, purple power de-ruster works great at removing the "white rust" corrosion from aluminum...the PP deruster is phosphoric acid, works great to clean up all those rusty bolts as well, drop em in and soak them over night morning they will be factory new, but will rust again if you dont paint them.
