its VERY easy..you just kinda pop the plastic piece out enough for you to get at the one bolt under there, there is a rubber plug covering the other bolt, remove 2 bolts from each side, lift & done!

This may be a thread for hatchback spoilers but does anyone know how to remove it for a coupe? Is the center post going to be an empty space once it's removed? Thanks a lot.

When i took mine off i just slowly pulled and the glue just split apart..of course then you have alot of glue residue on your car and a couple small holes from the bolts. Get out the "oops" (or any other sticky stuff remover) and put in some elbow grease! Just be sure to wash the whole area really well after you get all that junk off...so the remaining "oops" doesn't eat away at your paint over time.

finally got my spoiler out...i had to open the trunk and remove the inner part that has the center brake light..the whole part comes right off...there you will see the motor for the back windsheld wiper and there will be two screw that hold the spoiler...unscrew the two bolt and right come out the spoiler...

To take off the coupe spoiler there are two screws in each of the three posts. You'll have to open your trunk and use an allen wrench to loosen the screws. There will be holes where the posts were so u'll need to do some bondo work and also to get the glue off I'd use 3M adhesive remover. |

newbie question: Where can i get bondo or putty to patch up the holes?
never done my own body work before, or else i would know this. also, you said the plastic comes right off... what part did you pull from, and are you 100% sure that you didn't strip anything by just pulling? i don't want a rattle from that plastic afterwards This post has been edited by Consynx: Mar 10, 2004 - 8:52 PM -------------------- ![]() |

bondoin' your holes- you'll have to get some of that wire mesh that they sell with the bondo, and find a way to get it in the hole, you just need something for the bondo to adhere to. then put one a layer, sand it flush with the rest of the trunk, repeat that step until you have a couple of layers. and no subs for a while, or else it'll turn out wrong

hmm, i was looking for a temporary fix...till i get them prefessionally fixed by having a piece of metal welded to it, and all
so I'm not about to do Bondo apparently :\ -------------------- ![]() |

The way I covered the holes in my car was using fiber glass on the back and bondo on the front. Good luck, it will take a while but you will learn a lot...

just slowly pull it out....it basicly has these metal clips that are holding it. there are ment to be pulled off and then just snap back in.

can you try to describe where they are at...
it would be best to pull from there as not to snap the piece. -------------------- ![]() |

Start pulling from the middle. Use swift moves and it should pop right off. try to pull from where the pins are at (Dont pull from the middle to for the pins at the sides- put your hands in there - it wont bite)
