Hey guys,
Some of you may no that I have some 17" Rotas waiting to be put on to my celica but I am not to sure on what tires to go with.
For starters the wheels are 9" wide and +30 offset if that helps. I rang around today and one of the shops recommended 235/40
for the tire size. I can get an "average" tire for roughly $260 ea but not sure if I am getting ripped off or not. I was thinking of getting
some Federal tires brand new off ebay:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-NEW-FEDERAL-S...1e66dce32b#shId

What do you guys suggest???

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

$260 each sounds steep, but then again you're over in Europe and not U.S.

One of my mates suggested getting 225s and stretching it so it will have clearance from the guard. Any suggestions?

Ah sorry, I saw AUS and assumed Austria. tongue.gif I'm not sure if anyone on here has a 9" wide wheel, if there are it's not many. Largest I can recall at the moment is 8.5". Should try putting something in the title asking about tires for a 9" wide rim. Sure someone here can point you in the right direction.

215/45 for major stretch - get a good tire for this to clear your fender, unless you are rolling
225/45 have some stretch too
235 have less of a stretch

if you go 40, your walls of the tire are already skinny, you could also go with this but get something like 235/40.

these numbers all depend on how low you go, your camber you'll use, or if its rolled, or how thick you want to keep it.

and for more confidence on how they'll look go to www.tyrestretch.com, i was going to post some examples, but the network I'm in or the website is having problems.
