Plugs and wires will not increase performance, but they can improve performance, not beyond stock specs; if your plugs and wires are old... new ones will slightly improve power delivery.

Nology Hot-wires is so amazing, try it!! Man Highly recommend, many magazines in Japan has introduced it which can be increased about 15-20 hp in every car, but the price is a little bit expensive, about 130-180bucks |

That's only true if you're boosting or have a high-end / heavily modified motor. Using nology on a stock 7A or 5S will run like brand new factory wires. |

I don't think so, coz one of my buddies got it recently, the power of his car has been increased very obiviously. So I think it is better a lot than the factory wire whenever still in the the stock 5S OR 7A engines. |

You show me a dyno that indicates this improvement... and I MIGHT believe. I know people that have done this... with no improvements. Your friend MIGHT have noticed a difference because he REPLACED old worn wires. You'll probably notice the same when you replace old worn wires with new factory wires. Again... show me dyno sheets... I guarantee that if you'll only notice improvements on V6+ and force inducted motors... and practically NONE on a factory 5S and 7A. Here's some extra reading for you: http://board.mr2faq.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=191018 http://www.board.mr2faq.com/showthread.php...15&pagenumber=1 http://board.mr2faq.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=181923 http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Speedway/1308/dyno.htm (force inducted example) |

Same... stick with factory plugs. NGK coppers will work fine. Again... you won't gain anything significant by buying expensive, overrated plugs. This post has been edited by kuya1284: Jan 5, 2004 - 3:08 AM |

Ray is right guys, listen to him. We were dynoing some plug wires on our spec miata a while back and actually lost power with aftermarket 8mm wires (magnacores).

Yep, think about this, all the wires and plugs do is ignite the fuel/air mix, its the fuel burn that gives you the power, although you do need a reliable hot spark...

I've given my insight on Nology already. Did you not read my posts or the links that I've provided? Stick to factory (in regards to your ignition)... UNLESS you plan on doing some HEAVY modifications to your motor. |

I do have plans for more that just wires. I did look at your link but i could not access them i don't know why. Most of my upgrades right now are for the exterior but while I have the money I figured I would do what can. What would you recomend keep in mind that I am college student with a limited budget? thanks for your imput CelimanST ![]() |

It's awfully difficult to do serious modifications while being a college student on a limited budget. I worked while I was in college and tried to save money... but found it somewhat difficult. I just graduated last year, and landed a good job. This is the reason why I'm able to do the stuff that I've done to my car. So my recommendation is this... put together a list of things that you want to do to your car... price out everything... and see what you can afford. Got through the parts database to find out what you can do to your car. Go through this forum and see what people have done that aren't on the list. Read the stickies... |

Yes it is hard but I am take it one mod at a time the little things first. I am just going to stick with OEM wires STs are meant to look good and not road weapons.
But anyway thanx for you info CelimanST |

I have nology wires on a pretty much stock engine...it was a mistake...other than to replace my old ones and have a cool new color under the hood. If you're expecting power out of wires on a stock engine, you're expecting the wrong thing.
