96 GT vs Santa-Fe!!!!, You gotta read this!! Options

Okay, now this isn't my most impressive kill, but it might be the dumbest! I was driving home last friday and was stopped at a red when a bunch of 16 year old punks in a brown Hyundai Santa-Fe pull up beside me, I thought nothing of it at first.

They began revving at me.. I couldnt believe it! My car has got some modest performance mods, and its basically a ferrari compared to a santa-fe.

I decided to have some fun, the light turns green and the lame-ass beside me pulls out as fast as he can, I slowly start up and then once in 2nd at about 3500 revs I gun it! Pedal to the Floor!!! The engine roars and I devistate the poor bastard! The lanes up ahead merged into one, so I decide to go about 20km/h (dunno what that is in miles) below the speed limit, so fagboy in the santa-fe decides to try to pass me in the oncoming lane, once again I dropped a gear and gave my baby some gas, so he couldnt pass me.

This continued on for about 25minutes, at which point we pulled up to another red.. He rolled down his window and asked "does your car have performance mods or something?" hahahahha. A simple question from a simple man.. hahaha

**A quick question for you guys on the side, my friend has a 1998 P.O.N.T.I.A.C Grand Prix GTP, its very fast, and he wants to race me. I know he will kill me in top end, but I think I can take him acceleration wise. His car is auto. Mine is 5spd. I have a cold air, platinum spark plugs, fuel injectors and a new fuel rail, what do you guys think?

I dont know dude Im not sure about that year of gtp but arent they super charged? in which case he'd have you all over the powerband. And even still american cars are torquey so Im thinkin his is faster period, I doubt the auto will make alot of difference, my buddy has an auto base model 97 grand am and its pretty quick.

GTP has a modest 255-265 wheel hp. Even a GT should beat you, considering GM has worked with it's 3.8L V6 for a long time, it definitely shows.

The older GTP's are a 3.8L supercharged v6 pushing 240hp and they only come in auto's. That sucker will smoke you no problem. They run mid 14's all day long.

A grand pre took out my cousin's stock 97 Supra Turbo and all the pre had was a performance chip or at least that's what my cousin said. So he told me to beware of ugly ass american cars cuz they'll take you out.

Yeah, a grand Prix GTP will straight kill you, maybe even in the turns. Remember it's a wide-track grand prix and it can handle too. It has way more torque and hp than your car, it's in a completely different class. In fact a regular GT would kill a Celica.

actually....i raced my friend in his GTP and i took him off the line until about 25-30 MPH, then he passed me like i was standing still. It was fun considering he has at least 100 more hp than me. The car might have a lot of torque but it is still HEAVY. Funny kill story though.

You will be definately killed by that american beast. You should not though compare your car with his. I bet though i could take him out easily with my GT4. Not sure though as there are absolutely no american cars in my country.
