dat is rite. no poly kits for us. mostly fibergalss. u got original veilside kits that cost thousands, but fit is guaranteed and they make their kits with a mix of fiberglass and carbon fiber.

$3K? That better be an authentic JDM kit. Ask the guy the name of the kit and where he's getting it from. If it's from here in the states, it sounds like he's trying to pull a fast one. You can get kits for about $800 to $1000 shipped. To have in painted and installed should run about $400 to $800... depending on the kit and the type of prep work that's needed. Whoa.... Hold on there people. Vis makes their stuff out of polyfiber. Polyurathane and fiberglass mix. They had some videos of it on their website a while back. Looks like some good stuff. I emailed them about it a couple months ago and they said.... "Hey! For 94 Celica invader poly fiber, is $295 + $135 for shipping. It will take about 1 month to 1 ½ month to get it." So.... $430 and you'll have it in a month and a half, I suggest you check it out Visracing.com. Also if you're only having the bumper painted and installed don't let anyone charge you more than $500. $930 dollars max for bumper installed and painted, no more. That's the most I'd pay because I heard that fitment is great on this bumper but you may need to notch out an area by the turn signal to make room for the bumper bar. Shouldn't be noticeable with the turn signals in there. Actually I'd install it all myself and modify it where needed and then take it to a paint shop and have them paint it and bring it home and bolt it on. Don't forget everything in life is negotiable. Don't take their first price they throw out there. Just some stuff to think about.

The Celica kits ARE NOT poly fiber... they are made completely of FIBERGLASS... 3 to 4 layers to be exact. I know because I used to sell the kits to this community. And it does NOT take 1 to 1.5 months to get... If I were still selling it, I could get it to your location within 2 weeks. As for fitment, most of the time people will encounter problems. I know I had slight fitment problems with their kit, but my body shop was able to make some adjustments to make it work. Now here's the deal with the fitment. Most people here have bought their cars used, which means they don't totally know its history (and NO... CARFAX is NOT accurate since a lot of people don't report incidents with their cars). Now the only way that I can see the car having slight fitment problems is if the car was in a front-side collision and it wasn't repaired completely/properly (i.e. realigning the frame). I was in a front-side collision just before I had my Invader put on, which would explain why the Invader front didn't fit properly at first. In addition, my GT-FOUR bumper, which is what I have now, didn't fit properly a few weeks ago until my body shop realigned my frame (something that the previous shop never repaired and failed to report to me). So there you have it folks... if you have fitment problems, most likely it's due to some type of front-end accident. Any GOOD body shop can overcome this and make the bumper fit nice and snug. |

I got mine from vis 2+ years ago and it was fiber.. and the fitment was pretty good on it expessially the front bumer.. the sides needed a little work and the rear was kind of a pain but not too bad.. also keep in mind that it is alot easier to work with fiberglass than it is with poly - expessially if you plan on doing custom work to your kit.
If you look around you can get kits for pretty cheap.. I just purchased another kit for 540 shipped and that is for a 6 piece kit ![]() ![]() -------------------- ![]() 99 project version 3.0.. hello SEMA 2010 =) |

ALL the replicas made in the states are made of fiberglass. Some JDM kits are (or can be custom) made of urethane, but it'll cost you a pretty penny. Since you're in NY, you may want to just go through Erebuni. The quality of Erebuni and VIS are practically the same. |

just wouldnt trust fiberglass if i were you. if you ever had a fiberglass kit, you would know just how easy they are to crack. -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

They were making them out of plolyfiber just a couple of months ago kuya. I emailed them and that's the information that I recieved. It is special order though and that's why it takes them 1 to 1.5 months to get it to you. Um..... Kuya aren't you the one who doesn't like it when people post that don't know what they are talking about..... just something to think about. I'll post the emails I recieved from them in their entirety if you like. I already posted most of one. No hard feelings Kuya you generaly know what you're talking about and I apreciate what you bring to this community, I just hate it when somebody contradicts me when I know I'm right. -------------------- ![]() Project ST204.5 99.88946% complete... |

No worries buddy.... it's just that from your last post, you made it sound like ALL their kits are made of poly fiber. Just as you said in this post, they have to be special ordered. ![]() |
