I bought a set of 17" Enkei RS5 and now im looking for tires

I want to go with 215/40/17 cauz im not lowered (future plan)

Im more into durability than performance (also I dont want something very pricy)

I dont have a lot of knowledge in tires and I heard from some ppl to go with Khumos

My local shop told me that Khumos drive rough and dont last long. They told me to go with Federal, they have a better ride quality and last longer (for about the same price)

suggestions guys?

i got kumho and i like them a lot. i dont know how long they last cause i got them a few months ago.

my only regret was not getting 215-45-17.

the 205-40-17s i have on there now are really thin and dont look right in the huge wheel well that we have in our cars.

just added the same wheels as yours...along with 215 45 17Continental Extreme Contacts...online you can get some great deals through discount tires. lowered my '94 GT over Thanksgiving before adding the wqheels. The package came out great and the tires are definitely a couple cuts above the Khumos

Right now I've got Yokahome Avid H4 215/40-17 HR I believe and they've lasted about a year and a half so far with quite a bit of tread left. The ride quality is pretty decent (and I have Eibach Sportline springs and new shocks).

Whatever you decide to get, I highly recomend getting something with a H speed rating and not Z or V, you'll get much better life out of them. Also, make sure to keep them rotated about every 6,000 miles to increase tread life also.

If you're looking for all-season performance tires check out the falken ziex 512s. they are comparable to the conti-extreme contacts but they have a more agressive tread pattern, are a bit cheaper and have a rim protector bead. I'm very happy with mine.
