ooh, suppose will need to cut and rotate bell housing to match the rotation
i dont picture it though, 90deg V means the its leaning back an extra 45 degrees more than the 3/5s does, that may or may not be a fair bit, but i can say for sure there the back of my intake manifold is NOWHERE near my transfer case, it has room to lean back a further 45 degrees for sure This post has been edited by delusionz: Sep 2, 2012 - 3:13 AM -------------------- Mike W

still trying to picture why you cant fit an exhaust manifold back there
i mentioned intake because where your saying the exhaust wont fit is where the intake normally sits, and theres plenty of room down there from what i can see even if that side of the motor is tilted back more -------------------- Mike W

The exhaust manifold (atleast on the 1mz ) sets just higher than the steering rack so its lower then you think
An exists right beside the trans. It's kinda tight even without the transfer case in the mix too -------------------- 95 gt coupe, v6 swap weekend toy

If there was one worthwhile under 2.65 liters I would have done it. Instead I ended up with a 3sge, to stay in open light class. The 4GR-FSE and 5GR-FE are 2.5L. both are around the 200HP mark So is the2.5L 2MZ-FE, right at 200 horsepower and all 3 are a V6. Toss the TRD supercharger on it and do a decent engine build and you have a monster. Ehh not really, but they are both more expensive than a BEAMs which has more hp and about the same tq. Also if I put a s/c on it I would be be bumped into the open class with 100k+ cars. -------------------- -93 Rx7, Turbo 6.1L v8, 725rwhp/760rwtq

I just want to mention, the one on celicatech was a 5th gen, and it has yet to be completed. I believe it can be found on youtube under "twin turbo v6 awd celica"
I have been looking into this swap myself for quite some time. no final decisions yet but I am thinking 3vz or 1mz This post has been edited by cjh4l22: Sep 2, 2012 - 9:05 PM -------------------- proud =3sgte SWAPPED= '95 Celica ST owner [calling it the GT2 or half-trac]

Surely someone somewhere has bolted a toyota v6 to a e154 just because they had both laying around. A 2GR-FE would be an upgrade even on the gt4

Actually I think the 1mz weighs something like 50 lbs more and the 2gr weighs 100lbs less than a 3sgte.
Dont quote me on those numbers but weight is not an issue with the swap. |

Gouky on mr2oc pioneered the 2gr swap in the SW20 and after talking to him, he mentioned that his car was around 100lbs lighter than stock after the 2gr swap.
After riding in that car, I'm not sure that a FWD 2gr powered car (w/o traction control) is a good idea. I just can't imagine the restraint that is needed to keep from roasting the two (or one) front tires off the rims. I have both an e153 and several e154f trannys laying around... I may have to start mocking up to get an idea of clearances..... hmmmm -------------------- ~bloodMoney

The E154 is probably too close a gearbox for a v6 or supercharged v6. With all that torque youd want wider gears

No. I will bolt up my 2gr to my e154 and take pictures/notes. ![]() It will just have to wait until the 22nd when I can get back up to my barn. I was going to wait and try to surprise the board with a 2gr FWD 6g, just to prove fitment, which I may still do... But seeing as how I have all this extra alltrac stuff lying around, I may just go the full monty. I haven't decided yet. why are you talking about the E154, get the same E153 that comes in the 5 speed camry or solara and go. use the ST205 engine mount and you are golden.

Like I said, I may still do a FWD 2GR just to prove fitment, but I'm going to be spending TONS of money on front tires.... I'm considering skipping all that and going directly to 4WD. -------------------- ~bloodMoney
