Its been burning up Ignition parts. Distributor 3or 4 times, Igniter 2s... I think... Put it in a shop twice. Just got it back for the second time. They each tell me its running come pay and take your car. A week later no spark again and all they want to do is replace the same parts instead of "What is causing this?". I'm afraid to drive it and break it again. I know I need a wire harness for the ECM, Toyota wanted $1,000 for one. Not happening. I'll break out he electrical tape and silicone first!
The igniter seems to be getting too hot. Is this normal temperature? Anyone know where to get a good harness for a 5sfe or just the plastic plugs under the hood for a reasonable price? |

While I was installing my EMS, we had two ways of connecting the igniter. When connected as the wiring diagram indicated it worked fine, but connecting it backwards made it get really, really hot.
I doubt that's your issue but might as well try and check the wiring. If it hurts to keep a finger on the igniter for more than a couple seconds, it's getting way too hot. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold
