I have started to dislike the whole "working on my car to make it awesome!" starting as an ST and now with a 3SGTE+E-153 LSD swap... I have just lost interest. maybe because its my DD, or whatever... I am just overly stressed on making the car good. my dad nicked named the car "BOAT" (Bust Out Another Thousand) which had pissed me off at the time... but as it is now, its starting to be more and more true. I turn around something breaks and I have to put more money into it. I just can't win for losing. I love the car, but its just turning into a chore. I keep looking at all of these amazing swapped celica's on here, and I just feel even worse. mine looks like **** and probably doesn't run nearly as well as they do as well. I'm sorry for complaining but I had to get it off my chest. I'm about to just throw a tarp over it and leave it be. I dont want to get rid of it... but I dont want to deal with it anymore...

Don't give up! But maybe it is time to look into a new dd an make the celi a weekend toy till you know you got all the bugs worked out for good.
An trust me not every swap on here is perfect. I'm on my 2nd v6 an anytime you swap a car your gonna find its weak points an there gonna break.
Just take your time an fix the rest of her up an love her even more

Know how you feel. Do what Kurt said, it's a lot less stressful when the car you have to work on all the time isn't your primary mode of transportation.

Having a separate DD and the celica as a fun car REALLY REALLY takes the stress off of the situation.
I was there only 7 months ago. I work on my car a little every weekend now, and it makes things o much more simpler. Dont give up

It sucks right now, I know... I haven't been where you are, obviously, but my Celica used to give me issues. Previous owner did several DIY fixes that sucked, and I had no money to fix things when they broke. But I struggled through and kept the car, and now that I've been through everything that I have with it, I love it that much more. It sucks when it's one issue after another but it's all part of the process.

i know how you feel. thats what everybody tells me, "your cars turning into a money pit." I bought the car swapped. And since day 1 its given me nothing but problems. I'm mad crazy about the celica so I like it enough to put up with it. It's my dd and I seem to just have problems every week. Its quite frustrating at the time. But When I do get it to work, it feels great.

Right now my car is stuck in front of someones house in another city because the master clutch cylinder went out. I toyed with aftermarket masters cylinder instead of oem. Sucks cause I have no form of transportation except my aunt. And have to depend on others for rides to work n so forth. cars has to sit for another 7-8 days till I get the part from toyota(conicelli) . These things are somewhat good on maintenance, but with swaps and aftermarket parts this is expected.

This is why I've decided to just slam and stance mine. I had all these money spending dreams, but I know that when I get all that done, I'm going to be bored because I'm going to run out of **** to do. So, **** performance. It's my DD and it goes fast enough for me. I'm just going to have fun with it!

I found I was losing interest and went searching for another car. Found a 1972 Corona MK1 2000, but it got bought before I could put the money towards it. During that week of saving, I realized how much I do love my car and started fixing the little quirks here and there and decided to totally change my build direction. Sometimes you just need to take a break and look for something new, but you'll probably be back to it again some time. Most of the owners on this forum have left, and then returned. There is something about this car that just brings you back to it, time and time again.

Thanks guys... yeah, its just one head ache after another. after all the problems I had with the new E-153 lsd transmission I put in. I've been dealing with a stuttering problem and when I found out the Kbox valve cover was worn out (less than a year old) I replaced, and a friend who was helping out over tightened one of the ears on the cover and I had to get another one. I finally got a new valve cover and as I was working on it I decided to put on the new 47 trim turbo I had laying around while I was at it. well I put it on and now I have smoking internal smoking issues... I hope to god its just the turbo... but if its something else I am going to be incredibly sad. there is a small chance its the PCV valve... but I really doubt it.

I just want it to work right for once heh.

I know how it feels, heck I'm in this situation with my car now. Had a chance to get rid of it but i didn't like the kid even though he had the $$$. Sometimes I question myself that I should've taken the $$ and split. I too just want crap to just simply work. I guess its love. Imho just keep at it, keeping a dope chick around will always be costly and troublesome. That's how I look at it.

Just wanted to chime in and say tigawoods advice couldnt be more right. Having another daily helps so much as it gives you time to figure out your cars aproblems, strategize ways to fix (and save money) and to also give pure time to enjoying your hobby mang. Ive been there before with my 240 and had to suck it up and get a daily. No worries mate stick with what you love, take your timeout from it and reattack again! Also...
I think its safe to say....
