So, as I was out delivering pizzas the other day, some teenage girl pulled out from a stop sign at an intersection because she didn't see me (or didn't pay attention while looking both ways), and I ended up skidding into her. I was only doing 35-40mph when she pulled out (speed limit was 35 on the street), but there was absolutely no way for me to stop in time, I was already so close when she pulled out.

Long story short, some relatively minor front end damage to my Celi frown.gif. I'm going to be getting an estimate sometime soon. My driver side low beam got cracked pretty good, and my front bumper cover isn't in the best of shape. I'm not sure if I'll be needing to replace any other parts, but once I find out what's being covered, and how (full coverage, whee tongue.gif ) I'll start my shopping list.

Since I'll be needing a new front bumper, I was looking at body kits on Andy's Auto. I like the look of the Extreme Dimensions C-5 bumper more than most of the alternatives, and I like the idea of the Duraflex stuff. Does anyone who's used their body kits have any advice or tips about it, or bad experiences to share?

Oh, I'll also leave this world-changing bit of wisdom from the chick whose car I hit: "I had a stop sign! You were supposed to stop!" laugh.gif Her Ford Explorer got a scuff and some of my black paint, after looking at where I hit her, I'm not sure the door panel I hit was even dented. Apparently my Celica is not a heavy hitter. tongue.gif

lmao she needs to get off the road. A lot of girl drivers are just ditzy and don't really care. Like yesterday, I noticed someone did horrible parking next to my car, as I was on my way to work from my dorm. I go to make sure my car is alright cause the car was so close that I couldn't fit between the two cars. Come to find out the car nicked my fender with the exterior door trim. It's not much, but the paint was gone and I'm a little mad.
Anyway, I look at the car that hit mine, and it's all dented and scratched so I realize the person probably doesn't care. Look at the interior, and from my judgement of the things in there, it's a girl driver....

Haha, I don't wanna bag on girls' driving too much! Sometimes I feel like I'm the only sane driver around here, they make terrible driving decisions on a regular basis - and terrible indecisions, too! I put on my turn signals well in advance of my turns, and start braking early to make sure these hilarious people have more than enough time to realize what I'm doing and see my lights. tongue.gif

Back on the topic of body kits and such, I really do like the idea of the Gt-4 conversion. I'm thinking it'll probably be a few more pennies than that body kit, though. Also I'd rather not explain over and over that it LOOKS like a 2.0 turbo car when in reality it's a mild-mannered 1.8 N/A. biggrin.gif Damage aside, my lights could use some freshening up anyway... So many things I want to do, so little money to do it with... And I need a backup vehicle so I can still get around while I do half the things I wanna do to my Celica!
