So I'm curious if I received/purchased the wrong harness adapter or if I'm just missing something. Every where I look for harness adapter, the one I have comes up though. (I have the 6 speaker, pre-amped stereo)
These are the ends of the harness adapter I already have wired up to my new deck This was plugged into the factory preamp and comes from underneath it This was plugged into the factory radio, the other end plugs directly into the factory preamp This is the other end that was plugged into the factory preamp. I know they make a harness adapter I can buy if I want to use the factory preamp ... but I don't. -------------------- 99 Celica GT-S

I have the 6 speaker system as well. The harness I bought (Scosche) still runs through the factory amp. If I recall correctly, I did away with the harness that goes between the amp and factory head unit, and only used two plugs from the amp. I would have to look again to double check.
Edit: picture of the two plugs borrowed from Noberto's thread. Thanks Rich, yeah I actually ended up finding a PDF made for 6gc's. Those 2 blue plugs are underneath the preamp and you gotta reach your hand underneath and pull them out. Ended up getting it.

They're a pain to get out. I tried removing my factory amp several years back but that killed all power to my head unit. I have up on that endeavor. Are you still going for the 8 speaker system?

^Not as of right now. If someone in the states, especially close by, were to sell a set of 8 speaker door trims ... I might take them up on it, if they were mint ... but I'm pretty happy with the sound I have now. The two plugs under the preamp aren't that hard to get, I'd try it again. I mean, they're not super easy but once I figured out which ones they were, it took me like 5 min to get them pulled out and reroute them to plug into the new harness.
I wanted to use the preamp in the new deck as it has more wattage output than the factory JBL preamp. It's loud! Any now I have my iPod plugged in and I can go through the albums and artists right on the touch screen without even using the iPod ... I like that convenience! -------------------- 99 Celica GT-S
