How hard is it to convert a ST to GT??? What would be the average cost??? I know converting it to 3S-GTE would be better but for financil reasons I can't. Income tax refunds are coming so if its not to expensive I think I may be able to do this conversion.

I'd avoid swapping an engine if at all possible. In this case, it is. Sell the ST and get a GT. There is no point in spending a lot of time and money on something that could be accomplished in weeks rather than months.

I'll second that. There is no such thing as a cheap engine swap, unless you consider 3k+ cheap.

The entire GT conversion, if you really wanted everything, would be a lot more than that if you don't have the ST with the power package (pw, pl).

For the $3k, you could just buy a GT in good condition. I did. Cost me $3,200; high miles but excelent running condition.

St -> 3SGTE swap is easy.. only requires the drilling of 3 new holes in the frame. You will have to buy a lot of parts that you would not need to buy if you had a GT already... but depending on your situation with your car, this may be ideal..

and if you get all refurbished stuff - you'll basically have a full rebuilt drive train - pretty slick if you ask me... coming from someone who has done a ST -> 3SGTE swap

It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.

hey, how much did it cost you..totale from st to 3s-gte, cause im thinking soon i want to get a new car, well pretty much a another bimmer, but if i could do the swap for half the cost, it would be worth it right...
