Do anyone know if the rear control arms from a GT-S fit on a GT?
I don't have the part numbers online to give to you guys, but on CS Toyota Parts it says we can order the GT-S parts in the US. One of mine is slightly bent and I'm wondering if I can swap it out for the GTS one. Any input is appreciated. This post has been edited by mkernz22: Nov 11, 2012 - 10:09 PM |

May I suggest it's helpful to mention which generation you're asking about, if it's not the sixth-gen? I had a reply typed out until I clicked on your link and realized you were talking about a 2005 (there was a sixth-gen GTS).
If I correctly understand what parts you're asking about, the part numbers the arms are the same, used on ZZT23* -- referred to by Toyota as rear suspension arms. Toyodiy.com is the easiest way to find part numbers online, though you can also contact Lithia Toyota through their sub-forum on Celicatech with questions -- Aaron and Tracey offer excellent service. 48710A ARM ASSY, REAR SUSPENSION, NO.1 RH 48710‑20361 ZZT23* 1 $287.04 48720A ARM ASSY, REAR SUSPENSION, NO.1 LH 48720‑20111 ZZT23* 1 $287.04 Those are the list prices. Run the part number through the online part stores operated by Lithia Toyota or Titus-Will Toyota and you'll get a much better price. Lithia's parts number lookup will also give you a diagram of the associated area, in case I've got the wrong part. Your cheapest option might be to hit up a junkyard. These aren't parts which typically wear out, so as long as there's no damage they should be as good as new. Try car-part.com, it's a searchable portal to an inventory software used by auto recyclers across North America. This post has been edited by Galcobar: Nov 12, 2012 - 1:29 AM |

No, I'm talking about the 6th Gen, hence why I said "it says we can order the GT-S parts in the US."
But as for you, not living in the US, you probably wouldn't know that we never received the GT-S model for the 6th Gen. Sorry about that. It's all 6th Gen related, the 7th Gen may fit, but I'd like to keep it 6th. I'm really just revamping the whole car this upcoming summer so I'm debating whether or not do to these since the have a lot of surface rust. Probably just a good sanding and painting would do, but I need to get that bent one fixed. (It's been like that since I bought the car.) |

ST and GT are the same, kinda.
The difference is the "sport suspension", where the GTs with SS have bearings where the arms bolt on and the regular are just rubber bushings. -------------------- |

It's all 6th Gen related, the 7th Gen may fit, but I'd like to keep it 6th. Your link is to a 2005 Toyota Celica with a 1ZZ or 2ZZ engine. I was aware that the GTS didn't exist in the US for the sixth-gen. Essentially, the GT with Sport Suspension was the Canadian GTS. My advice stands. Check toyodiy.com for part numbers. Contact Aaron or Tracey from Lithia to confirm part number, price and availability. Or hit up a junkyard -- they're substantially cheaper. If you are talking about a sixth-gen, then you must be referring to the rear suspension arms, which run in pairs laterally from the suspension member out to the rear wheels. The forward of each pair is the No. 1 suspension arm, and the rearward is the No. 2 arm, which also holds a threaded toe adjuster. |
