I didn't know him well, only met him twice I think but he seemed like a really cool guy. I was looking forward to grilling some dogs and burgers on his turbo manifold.

Jake, neither link will load for me. No matter, I've already found out what happened. It's not my place to say but I will say that we've all lost a good friend and a member of this site over stupid, reckless ignorance. Tom never deserved anything like that.

For those interested and if the link won't load...here's all it says

"Military authorities are investigating the death of a deer hunter found dead Saturday at Fort McCoy.

Thomas Stamborski of Milwaukee was found dead with a gunshot wound in an approved hunting area on the installation, according to Fort McCoy officials.

Stamborski, 22, was hunting on the base and is a civilian not affiliated with the Department of Defense, according to officials.

Special agents from the Army’s Criminal Investigation Command are investigating the death. No other information was immediately available Monday.

Fort McCoy issued 2,000 permits to hunt on about 46,000 acres of land.

Stamborski is one of three known fatalities of the gun deer opening weekend.

According to the Associated Press, 51-year-old Shawn Lemanski of Green Bay died from injuries suffered when he fell from a tree stand in the Marathon County town of Cassel. Also, 51-year-old Steven Jackson, of Antigo, died after he was found unresponsive in the woods near Gleason in Lincoln County. Both deaths happened Saturday.

State Department of Natural Resources hunter education administrator Jon King said more people are out in the woods on opening weekend than at any other time of the year, so the chances of an accident are also higher."

I didn't think it possible but this story just keeps getting sadder with each passing day. To lose a life in a tragic accident like this is just so disheartening. RIP Stambo.

A few more pics.

bloodMoney's pictures.

Mine.

I was only able to meet Tom a couple of times but we were always chatting when I still had a Facebook. He was definitely a cool guy. I loved the sound of his ST185 swap. RIP, Tom.
