You know when u replace pads and u press the brakes to bring back the pressure in the brakes.
Like the first Time the pedal depresses wayy to much and the next time it's better Well I noticed my car did that yest. For the first time (I didn't replace pads just did it randomly while driving) It's doing it after every other stop. Example: I get out of my house driveway, i press the brake at the stop sign, it depresses too much, I let go and pump it again its normal. Does it again when in getting out of the neighborhood. Does NOT do it at the light, but at the next light after that. And it continues this way Also noticed in an empty lot, when the pedal is depressed too much, and I kept pushing it, it locked only driver side I have drums in the back and calipers in the front Could It be bad fluid or does it sound like the caliper itself? The fluids not low it's b/w min and max But does look kinda dark, but I've seen worse -------------------- For Sale:OEM tail lights - make offer

Did you bleed your brakes after changing them? Sounds like you may have some air pockets in your brake lines. You should never have to change your brake fluid unless it get contaminated, its only there to create pressure to close the calipers.

I DID NOT change my brakes, it just randomly happened...the shop said my master cylinder is out, estimated 600, I bleeded all 4 brakes but still not better. Hopping to get a new cylinder by wed and replace it myself. -------------------- For Sale:OEM tail lights - make offer

Sure sounds like a bad master, but pop off the rear drums and make sure the wheel cylinders are not leaking.

Sounds like a bad master cyl. Mine did that a long time ago. Make sure that you prime it if you decide to replace it yourself. I didn't and ended up damaging the internal seals of the new one.
Priming = filling reservoir partially before installing and pushing the piston with a blunt object to fill the brake master with brake fluid. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold
