Im pretty sure this topic has been discussed hundreds of times already but lets see if someone can enlighten me, im pretty sure the 2nd gen 3sgte can be swapped into our celicas but from what i read, people encounter a problem with the shifter cables or something like that based off becuase of the way the transmission is positioned on the mr2. Can the GT transmission be mated with the 2nd gen mr2? If so, what shifter cables should be used?

The GT trans can be used, so that isn't an issue. However, coolant outlets are different and there are other differences as well. All minor, but they can be a headache.

because the 2nd gen is older electronics it more of a wiring issue. the 3rd gen was factory in the 6th gen celica so the wiring is very minimal.
