I ordered a carbon fiber gt4 hood for my 94 gt with a swap but having problems getting it to fit do I have to do any modifications to the latch and it seems to have about a one inch gap in the front against my stock gt bumper any suggestions?

Thats the way it will be im afraid the bar across the top of a gt4 is different.

Best thing you can do is find another latch and redrill holes for mounting it and have a trial bases untill your happy and drill your existing latch

Yes, but the bumper support bar is different as well. There's a thread in the stickies covering what needs to be done to put a GT4 front end on. I'd grab the link for you but I'm posting from my phone and being lazy. You will need an extended hood latch for the hood, a GT4 bumper with the upper bumper support (or bolts acting as spacers,) a GT4 crash bar or modify your existing crash bar, and a camera to take pictures when you're finished. Like I said, check the stickies. There's s thread with detailed descriptions and pictures.

Or you can leave it as is with the gap. Some people prefer that look. You will still need an extended hood latch though.

Edit: I'm done being lazy. Here's the link.

Is this the VIS carbon fiber hood (if not, which brand did you buy off?)? If it is, it's supposed to fit the GT/ST without that gap kindasad.gif That's means that I was misinformed big time when I had a thread on this subject a while back mad.gif

No it's not, but when it was ordered I was told it did not need any modifications at all but as u can see it does.

It's my understanding that the seibon hood should fit our cars with the non gt4 front end. I haven't seen a gt4 specific seibon hood before but maybe it exists. Where did you buy the hood? Maybe someone wrapped a gt4 hood in carbon and sold it to you as a seibon...

Also, I believe it's recommended to use hood pins with the seibon hood if that's what you actually got.

I don't want to throw out name of business but I ordered online it definitely is not wrapped and does need latch and has the one inch gap, and I did ask if they was sure I didn't need any modifications of course they said no it will fit ..... Which it does fit just not properly.

was it andysautosport.com because thats where i got my CF hood. and yea it'll fit but without the GT4 bumper you will have that gap. IMO seibon makes the best CF hoods, i've had mine for over a year now and it still looks the same way it did on day 1

i got rid of my hood latch. and you will still have a small gap even with the gt4 bumper UNLESS u have the bumper reinforcement bar which i dont and there is a tiny gap between my hood and bumper
