Hi everyone,
When I bought my car the previous owner took off the factory antenna and installed a small rubbery one but it does not sit upright, it leans off the car at about a 45% angle like a ... well. Anyway, aside from taking away the little blue pills I feed my car, what alternative antenna's do other people use? Obviously I want one that actually has decent reception and does not attract undue attention. Thoughts? |

I've seen some cool alternative antenna options on here. There's the shark fin antenna, found on several newer cars:
( http://www.6gc.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=87274 ) A rally-car style antenna (notice on top of the car, towards the rear): But my favorite so far has been a window-mounted antenna, so no antenna is seen at all. They're available pretty cheap on Ebay and mount in the rear window, reception is pretty good on them as far as I can tell. Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hidden-Stereo-AM-F...7b3&vxp=mtr -------------------- "Employ your time in improving yourself by other men's writings, so that you shall gain easily what others labored hard for." -Socrates. I did mine a while back, got a random shark-fin style off eBay:
eBay Antenna I just disconnected the OEM one in the boot and the bought an extension aerial cable, from the boot to the roof, drilled a hole and put it on with a bit of sealant.... Overall took about 2 hours and I like the look... Also, if you wish to use the old OEM style again, then the cable is always there P.S The quality of the signal did not diminish at all (and if it did there is also a 'booster' wire which I never even used) -------------------- ------------------------------| White '94 Celica | Bought 11/05/12 | Sold 12/05/15 |------------------------------ |
