You should be able to go to a local shop that carrys car audio equipment (napa, part source, canadian tire, wall mart, etc. in North America) and find the correct kit to install a single din head unit into the double din pocket.

As above, just pop down to your local auto store and they'll have them - they are very generic.

Personally, I used an Aerpro FP9016 - Universal Pocket to Suit Toyota (Web link); but there is nothing special about this one - this is just what my local retailer stocked.

Good luck smile.gif

Just pick up the stock Toyota box that fits underneath the single din radio. Looks far nicer than any cheesy aftermarket box and has more storage space. It's only about $30 USD new.

This... (OEM)

As opposed to this: (aftermarket)

Yeah, sure do. Here you go.

55521F COVER, STEREO OPENING, NO.2
55520‑14050 1 $38.90

That's from ToyoDIY, the actual price will be cheaper.

Yes get the oem storage box like richee3 said, it looks very nice installed. People sell them used in the FS/WTB section of the forums often.
It conveniently has the OEM brackets and standard single DIN toyota brackets that mount to just about any aftermarket stereo.
Ive tried the aftermarket adapters with the box underneath and they are crap IMHO.

the OEM one shown with the lid came on 1994-1995 celicas with single din cassette player, i had from a really old celica i had several years ago, kept it for years with a broken lid.

1996 models mostly came with double din cd+cassette players, but a few came with cd only and thus there is also a newer model genuine din pocket without that crappy lid
