I know it's only two wires, but I don't have the original plug. I'm guessing that since it's just a solenoid then I can wire it either way, but I want to be sure. Does anyone know? Or can you attach a picture of your gen3 vsv wire colors on the plug? Thanks!

sorry pal, both wires are black with a red stripe and i dont have a multimeter with me. trololo

if it helps, the AC idleup plug is similar, if you hold it up with the locking tag up top, and the wires towards you the negative is on the left

try it both ways anyhow, see what works best

thanks man. It's good to know that both of the wires are the same color. I know the ecu will short it to ground to turn it on, that's all I need to configure in my Autronic. It does look like it's a regular solenoid then if both wires are the same. They wouldn't make them both the same color if it's crucial that they be connected only one way.

The plug that I found (I think from a 5sfe) is from one of the vsv a/c idle up I think. It has a red/yellow wire and I forget the other wires color, but the red/yellow comes from the computer. The plug style is the exact same as the turbo vsv, so I want to use it and wire it in directly. Since both wires are black/red then maybe I'll chance it and see what happens. Or at least connect it each way and blow through it smile.gif

im actually interested to know if you can cut that plug off and wire in a 3port solenoid, i have the power FC ecu with 4 boost presets, unfortunately they only offer duty cycle, no gain

you will probably have a full fledged EBC in your autronic though

that's why I love the autronic..tons of neat features. I believe it does have a full EBC, I'll play around with that after the car is running and I have a good running map.

it works fine both ways. 12v from battery, configured Autronic to short to ground. (and I wired a little LED onto the plug so I can see when it's on smile.gif )
