Hi everyone,
After taking about my car I noticed one speaker in the rear is missing and the middle sized speaker of the three in the door is missing. I grabbed a couple of rear speakers our of a junker, is the middle speaker on the door the same size as the rear ones? The previous owner apparently gutted the original system and built his own system, then removed it before he sold me the car.... so I am trying to see what I can do to get it working again. The amp under the driver seat is missing. The amp in the dash may be missing as well. I need to double check. I have a cheap aftermarket pioneer in the car now. I have not checked to see what if any wiring harness connectors are in the car. If I have to rewire everything... The three speakers in the door, are they all sharing the same two wires to the stereo or amp or are they all separately wired? The rear speakers, if the amp is missing under the seat, what and where are the wires to splice into to wire to the head unit? I am thinking of looking for the amps to rebuild as it was new. Suggestions? Thanks |

With the 8 speaker system, the medium speakers in the doors are 4" and the rears are 6.5". I believe the tweeters, 4" door speakers, and 6.5" rear speakers are all powered by the amp in the dash, and the 8" subs in the doors were powered by the amp underneath the seat. Don't quote me on that though. I have never had my hands on the 8 speaker setup so I can't answer any of the wiring questions but if it was me and I had to rebuild the system, I'd go ahead and upgrade everything instead of returning it to over-decade old stock. It's all personal preference.
