Friday afternoon when I was driving to work my clutch pedal stared to feel really mushy (about top 2/3 was completely without any resistance). When I was trying to shift the clutch started to grab maybe an inch from the floor. Almost to the point of stalling the engine while popping it.
I managed to drive all the way to the job and parked. Few hours later when I got to my car, there was absolutely no resistance in clutch pedal at all. I thought that slave cylinder went out so I got a new one today. While installing it, I noticed, that the arm sticking out of transmission is very loose and have a lot of play (sideways and also front-to-back). I thought that the arm should always be pressing against the piston of the slave cylinder with no or minimum play, correct? Anybody can tell me what went wrong and how much in repairs I'm roughly facing? Thanks! Forgot to clarify: 7AFE with original tranny. What kind of clutch?
This happened to a f1 racing stage 2 clutch I bought off ebay. All the springs blew on the disc after just 1,500 miles. The fork could have popped off the pivot piece though |

I don't know. I have never replaced the clutch, I'd say it is the original one... (the engine has around 143k on it).
