to hell with the law wink.gif I'm pretty sure that Iowa doenst require you to have the airbags, there an option not a law here.. and I personally think that airbags will more often than not hurt you more than they save you. that and with my harnesses I dont think im gonna be hittin the steering wheel unless my seat brakets break wink.gif

well I got 10 hours to work on it tomorrow so hopefully I will have all kinds of fun stuff to show you guys tomorrow night biggrin.gif

To answer you question though... Like I said a year plus ago the bodyshop that my car was in is my dad's friends and is over an hour and a half away, the owner was letting me keep my car there and we where doin some things to the old kit. I got tired of driving for almost 4hrs round trip just to work on the car for a few hours so I brought the car home and have been doin it myself since. when I get done with the basic graftin and everything it will go to the shop and get it finished off and painted, I may or maynot take it to the shop I mentioned before, Me and him arnt on the greatest of terms right now cuz of probs with my dad.

edit: been viewed

spent quite a bit of time working on the rear bumper today.. I actually washed the car too but then it rain about half way threw the day.. but on with pics biggrin.gif

There are alot of steps that I didnt take photos of.. but you can get the idea of what I had to do by reviewing other areas of this topic...

Might be changing the rear a little though.. the green arrow below points to where im thinking about making the changes... basically it dips in a little bit and thats fine but im having a MAJOR problem getting the bodyline there to look right.. some im thinkin about filling it in and just makin the whole section smooth.. give me your guy's opinions

i dont see the pic with the green arrow...

edit: now i do.... i think it would look better dipped in if you could get it right, but if not, make it smooth, it'll still look badass....

PS: i'd leave the rear bumper the way it is, w/ the dip, adds character.

appology accepted, and i appologize to you as i can see how you could have taken that question as a stab, when i meant no harm in it. there's not a whole lot of clutter, seeing as how the posts are still relevant to the topic...

staying on topic again...i was wondering about your exhaust...are you running it to the Driver's side somehow? or will you be changing/fixing that?

also worked on the rear, filled in that section I talked about previously.. even though I was really heisant about doing this I am glad I did. Not only does it look 100xs better its 10xs meaner. I used alot of body filler today... infact to the point where I was kinda nervous about - got REALLY close to the 1/4 inch rule but think it will be fine.

I still have to go over it with a final layer of a smoother body filler but got it ruffed out pretty good

heres the MUD... about the only thing I can call this but its hella strong stuff

user posted image

here it is cheese gratted down some.. you can see where there are still low spots

user posted image

here it is sanded down a little in prep for the next layer of body filler

user posted image

another layer of bodyfiller... its is about the 5th or 6th layer and prolly the thickest I applied it

user posted image

here it is sanded down.. there are still some crater areas but the majority of it is smooth.. I will go over it tomorrow as long as the weather is good with that aqua/blue body filler you have seen me use before

and on the car
