Hey guys,

Haven't been on here forever...but

My radiator popped and it turns out there was oil in there. So instead of just getting a new radiator installed for $120, it looks like I'm going to get my head gaskets replaced and a new timing belt to boot.

All this will cost be about $1k. Do you guys think it's worth it? My car has 195k miles...

According to your profile you have an st so I'm guessing you have the 7afe. I'd just get things replaced. A lot of 6gc members don't really suggest rebuilding the 7afe and 5sfe unless you're planning on putting another 100,000 miles on it.

you only have 1 head gasket, so rest assured it wont be too expensive. but like mentioned above, what do you plan on doing with the car? if you want to keep it for a long time, then rebuild it, if you want to get rid of it, just swap the engine

1k for a shop to do a headgasket and rad. is assuming like you said new timing belt bits, wp, cam and crank seals. Problem is when they pull the head they might find the block or head need to be resurfaced(alot more money). Fair price if that doesnt have to be done. If you did it yourself itd probly only cost 300-400.
