Hey everyone, first of all I would just like to point out that yes i've had an account on these forums for about a year, however i've mostly been lurking and am looking to become much more active now!
My celica: Red, 1996, ST204R, manual, 71,000 km's So i'll start with a bit of background information, I received my celica in December of 2011, after a family member decided to have an upgrade after owning this car since new. Since the age of 10 I was always told that just before I turned 18 the celica would be mine but I didn't really believe it until it happened! Car had about 61,000 km's when I picked it up and is now sitting on about 70,000 km's. When I got the car it came completely stock, even with the original celica car mats, a perfect base to start changing it to suit me. My first thing was rims, went for a gun metal 5 spoke rim (considering plasti dipping them black soon), following this I re-did the shift boot and door cards in black leather with red stitch due to they having a bit of wear and tear. Along with this I added a hand break cover and matching door handle covers following the same theme of black leather with red stitch. About this time I also had the spoiler resprayed along with minor detailing. Being from Australia getting parts here isn't easy or cheap, for that reason it has taken me a better part of a year (ordered them in January) to find a genuine SSIII kit with front and rear splitters as well as the TRD side skirts that can be shipped here for a decent price. Following this all the parts have been sprayed, with the front and rear splitters on and the side skirts being fitted when I get some spare time. Before you ask why I haven't touched the engine or any other performance aspects I'm on my Red P Plates which means I'm very restricted to what I can do, as well as this my parents aren't to keen on me upgrading anything performance wise for a while! Sorry for the essay but that is pretty much my journey with the celica so far! Here is a picture of my celica, taken a few days ago ![]() |

I'm sure you can convince them to let you do an exhaust system.

We're very limited to power here too. Can't upgrade engine internals or turbo a car. The only way to get true power here is to do a BARd engine swap.....tsk tsk. Well at least that's the legal way. Lol.

Where I live they wouldn't know emissions if the EPA slapped them in the face and told them.

my parents aren't to keen on me upgrading anything performance wise for a while! Have one of them in the passenger seat on a rainy day and slide the thing around in an empty parking area, proper piloting established and worries abolished for your parents. Otherwise, welcome.
