So to make a long story short my ex and I started a project car 7 years ago. He left me hanging and besides paying for everything I did all of the research and most of the work. We got everything apart and back together with the new motor and transmission in. I had the wiring harness done by Dr. Tweak which I know many of others on here have seen his work. Then the power was cut at the place we were working on the car and it didn’t get a thing done on it for years. We never got the car running. Well I finally left, and the car and what I could get back, came with me. This past summer a good friend, Art, helped me out a lot. We worked out a lot of the kinks in the wiring, eventually found the fuel pump was bad, and replaced that. Finally Art got the car running for me!! I ripped out the alarm system and could actually start my car with a key. As much of a triumph this moment was, and as much as I love this car and loved putting everything together and learning so much, I cannot do this alone. And at this point in my life I have a lot of things I need to move forward with - leaving this car lower on my priority list.
This has been a great experience and, though almost complete, I need to pass this on to someone who has the time, money, and heart she deserves. The shell is a 1995 Toyota Celica SE. The motor is a 4AGE AE101. This is an automatic. The motor was purchased from Japan Domestic Motors, and was warrantied to have less than 35,000 miles on the motor and transmission set. They guarantee that (1) All engines must undergo vigorous compression tests, (2) All engines must record 150 psi per cylinder or greater, (3) all engines must pass a leak down test and (4), all engines are started at their warehouse prior to shipping. Anyway, at this point, these are the things that still need to be completed. -The vacuum lines need to be hooked up properly. -The power steering canister needs to be mounted. -The throttle cable is a bit too long as is the shift cable. -The exhaust system will need to be fabricated and hung. -The piping to the air filter needs to be manipulated a bit to fit behind the battery, or the battery can be placed somewhere else like many people do to have more room in the engine bay. -I have not replaced the brakes or rotors so I’m sure that they could use some care or replacing at this point. I have replaced 90% of the hoses. The shell is in pretty good shape, a small ding or two, and the radio antenna is broken. The interior is in useable condition but a little worn and not the best looking. I know it seems like there is not much left to do but the thing is I was not the car enthusiast when this project got started and am not now. I was very interested - loved working on it - but taking something apart and putting it back together is one thing. Having the knowledge to trouble shoot and solve any problems it may have is another. The car has sat for a few years and has not been registered yet so it will need to be towed. I live right outside of Philadelphia in the King of Prussia area. Also the title is clean and in my possession. I am looking to sell the car as is for $2100 OBO. I also have a set of 5 star brushed aluminum rims. They will work with any lug pattern. I have a stereo I purchased for it as well if someone is interested and have a catalytic converter if wanted. Below is a link to the photos: (Please let me know if this does not work, this is my first time doing this) Celica Swap I also have a video of the car running that i just need to get if anyone is interested in seeing (hearing) it. Okay Well unfortunately I really have to get this car sold due to space issues. I'm willing to let it go for $1650.
If anyone is at all interested please contact me. Thanks, Adrienne |
