The girlfriend bought a set of drag dr38s in 17x8+47 with 225/45/17 tires and we went to mount the read rims and the rim is hitting the strut. So I just bought a set of 25mm spacers for the rear.
So the spacers should be here in a few days. What else would you guys have done? |

Yep spacers will solve the issue.
I would of also had a stern word with the girlfriend. Sure surprises are nice. But she needs to understand the offset! -------------------- |

I knew about the rims and we were going to go with +35 offset but the company didn't have them in stock but they had the +47 and I really didn't think 12mm would make that much of a difference and me not know much about the celica cause I'm more of a Honda guy. But I'm running 25mm spacers all around on my civic. So that's why I went with them. Now I didn't get spacers for the front cause there's about a half inch gap between the rim and strut so I thought that would be OK. |

I really do not understand why people bother with such high offsets. Our stock offset is +35 and should stick with wheels @ that offset or lower. GL and hope everything works out. And post pictures!

Is that a 1/2" when on the ground or in the air? cause if it's while in the air then it may rub once you put it back down.

Once I get the rear spacers and fit them and try the fronts out and drive around and if the fronts rub I'll get some 5mm spacers and go from there. |

I use this tire/wheel comparer (link) where you can see all the dimensions and differences between two different sets of wheels. You can also see what is your speedometer reading mistake going to be on a taller set of wheels than stock dimensions. Useful thing.
