i would like to have my rims look flush with the rest of the body. right now i have 17x7s and they look like the are not pushed out far enough. i would love to get that clean bmw look.

what do i need to get this done? 17x8 rims? wheel spacers?

measure how much gap you have and buy the appropriate spacers. just be sure to buy good spacers, you don't want to cheap out on something that holds your wheels on. H&R is a great brand and they make them in 5, 15 and 25 mm sizes.

depends on the offset...... a 17x8 with the same offset you have now is only going to stick 1" more into the wheel well, not out....

Actually, wouldn't they stick out a half inch further on each side, since the offset is simply the distance from the center of the wheel to the rear of the mounting surface?

sorry, yeah... if it had the same offset then it would add 1/2 inch on either side

They are solid pieces of metal(not sure what kind, but quality spacers are really strong) that go between the mounting surface of your wheel and your hub. They allow you to have your wheels stick out further. wink.gif
