So just a few days ago I was notified at work that a green Celica just like mine was being sent to wholesale. I drove up the hill to take a look at it and decided that I wanted to go ahead and pick it up for my girlfriend Jennie. I don't know about everywhere else, but around Raleigh the green colored Celica's are very rare.
It's a 1996 25th anniversary Celica ST with around 193,XXX miles on it. We've already started to make progress on the car as there were several things that were in need of repair. ![]() ![]() ![]() The car had a craced armrest console, broken door panel on the passenger side, rear wiper motor didn't work, nasty coolant, the worst blown rear shocks I've ever heard in my entire life, bad window switches, a broken HVAC control head heat knob, and a Cylinder 3 misfire code. Pretty disappointed since a technician used to own this car, and had let if fall into such poor condition. Either way, Jennie and I hit the garage and started replacing all of the broken parts after a quick trip to the local junk yard. The car is now in top working order, and is coming up due for a Timing belt in the next few thousand miles. Not sure of plans for the car yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna try to talk her into another 3sgte swap!!! -------------------- ![]() |

Do something different this time, drop a 1MZ into it. Also if you want to magically trade colours let me know.

It's just so nice to have a yamaha tuned engine that I don't have to tune at all until I go extreme. Building a turbo set up for a 7a is just not cost effective when the price of a 3sgte is so low. -------------------- ![]() |

Meh, if I were to swap it's the route I'd go. The 1MZ is lighter, efficient, and easy to get parts for. If you're content with 200hp in a 2,400 pound car then hey why not. Would I do a 3S swap if I found one for stupid cheap for some reason, you betcha. Being the 1MZ is a lot cheaper and easier to source locally, what has me going for it.
