"dumb as hell" is pretty harsh for an opinion, but I guess your taste is your taste. GT-4, your car is my new official background for awhile, until something hotter comes up, which I highly doubt for awhile.

Well, what about performance wise.. Wouldn't 18" and 19" be a bit heavier than 17"? I used to be on a Honda forum before I got the Celica, and the general opinion over there was that anything above 17" really started to drop the performance. That was on Civics though.. But still.
Rubbing isn't all to take into consideration when choosing rim size. -------------------- |

QUOTE(vangSTa_celica @ May 10, 2005 - 10:51 AM) n00b pulled it up Well, I'm still interested to see if anyone have any opinions about the performance on 18/19" compared to 17" or even smaller 16"/15" rims -------------------- |

For performance, I'd probably go with a lightweight 16" wheel.

i agree with vangsta, if you're going to be sporting 18" or 19" (or even 17") rims you probably shouldn't plan on going too crazy. if you like to run your car but still want large rims just keep your stok rims and put them on before you do any running, those are the best rims (for their price--nothing--) for running at the track anyway.

I had 18" rims on my old MKII GTi. They had the ****tiest ride ever. Every little bump in the road your ass felt with force, mainly because of the low, low profile. I like my 16" rims on my Celica. Its nice to have some 16X8 road huggers. When I move on up, im only going to 18" tops. If you were to move up to 18" rims, how wide could you get them? 7.5"?

wow 19" rims are like. WOAH.. like those porsche or some other really high end car.
18" look nice but not anywhere as good looking. for me its either 19's or light weight 16's. |
