Hey everyone, I'm (kinda) new here... i've got an o'l 94 st... 1.8 and i must say, i dont know what all has been done to it but its impressively fast, im aware of the emissions evap, headers, exhaust, eibach sport springs, short ram intake and the retarded huge 8.5mm wires pushing some ngk iridiums... but anyway, lets get to it... ive been conversating with a member on here about best routes and whats nots to go on the gt i just purchased from him (havent picked it up yet) but, i was wondering if there are any frankenstein builds for the 5s-fe or what exactly can be done with that motor, internals, boost ect... but my main concern as of now is the emissions. i cant really explain why it is a concern but i want it out of my car. does anyone know of an emissions delete for the 5s? or any work arounds for it i mean like ANYTHING? im in a po-dunk town of Lamesa Tx and i commute to Midland daily, so i mean, are there even any (active) members out there in my area? nice to meet you all and thanks so much for any advice, links or anything but most of all, thanks for the conversation!

You live in Lamesa? If so that would be awesome because I live in Lubbock, and it would be great to have a celi friend. Also welcome, I'm sure someone here will be able to answer questions. Everyone here is very helpful.

ok are you saying the 1.8 ST is fast? are you being ironic? its like the slowest car ever made lol
linked some swap info. everything listed really doesnt make your car faster. the 7afe was not meant to be fast, its only as fast as it is you can spend $500 and get 3hp increase.

ironic? no. more like quick for a 1.8 as opposed to an 800hp seat slammer and chest crusher. and im not talking about any swaps for the st but rather my gt. and ive pitted my car (the st) against quite a few gts and pulled by at LEAST 3 lengths leaving 3rd gear. call it driver error or whatever youd like but im calling that as coming off kindof rude (no offense) but i started my profile and my thread here to get help and make new friends and be the passive and helpful person i am. not to get into a bigger di**s competition. thank you for your input, very much and the swaps will be looked into deeply. I would prefer builds and fab work as opposed to just straight swaps. dont really care for the drop and drive methods. im a more "do-it-yourselfer" than anything. I know the 1.8s are slow. believe me its not as fast as id like it to be and yes the slowest of the 6gen but regardless youre speaking about the car as a whole. im simply saying i do not have the slightest of ideas who what or how but its comparably fast for a frig-diggin1.8

i didnt mean to come off as like offensive lol.
As far as making more out of your GT, u can turbo it. but the stock internals arent going to hold up long, so you need to rebuild it and get everything for the custom turbo setup($). Which if done right is great. Im just saying its easier and has alot more potential to swap a 3sgte in.
Also short of making a 5sfte you cant make the GT "faster" it is what it is, doing everything in the book will only get you a little more power IMO

v6's and 8's are being considered..... i also found this crazy gt4 swap and build that seemed right up my alley..... but on the same token too much of a headache trying to hunt for parts... so, for the ST ive thought up a weird swap... an 87 volvo 240 dl swap, rear end, trans and 2.3 cast iron motor. boost on it all day with little to no hassle and rwd as opposed to fwd..... more or less.... i want a retarded fast and somewhat agile v8 killer. the 5sfte build is seeming to be the way to go (for now) it being a more common motor for me to find parts and in my area... so ultimately no decisions have been made and im still really up in the air about it, but the end goal is like i said a v8 killer but i want to keep it as "toyota" as possible... i dont know of nor have i found threads for anything on a v6 swap. i had an old 80's model 2dr corolla that was rwd but it never ran and i didnt have time to devote to it and my buddy ended up t-boning it at 45mph... but it was a platform i would have liked to work with... anyone know of like a rwd swap? minus my stupid volvo idea (although the wheelbases, length and mounts are pretty feasible) anywho... i have two of them and i want one to be hitting the local drag strip and really putting it down or holding its own so any ideas or info for this crazy plot of mine? people have suggested the beams swap, but it just doesnt seem right and a little too "honda-ish" for me.

There are a few threads on here for swapping in the 1MZ-FE V6. Personally my choice if I were to ever do an engine swap. It actually weighs less than the 5S and 7A, makes 200hp out of the box, and you maintain OEM reliability and can easily source parts. That and the gas mileage is close to what the ST gets provided you keep your foot out of it.
