99 Celica 2.2l 5sfe EGR HELP |

I got the egr bolts off now the tube that runs to the head or the top of the block I can't get it out it has two of those lock nuts I guess you could call it that connects the tube to the egr and im cleaning it out since I through a p0401 code so any advice on how to get the whole tube piping out that connects from engine to egr?

You need a wrench. Don't recall if it's a 24mm but I think it is. You just gotta knock it loose and then remove it by hand, and then the tube comes out.
There's a fitting bolted into the head but you don't have to remove that to remove the pipe. -------------------- 1993 Celica GT Coupe - sold

I haven't done this on a Celica, but I'm assuming the Camry's 5sfe is basically the same. The tube you're referring to goes from the bottom or the egr valve to the back of the head. It looks like this: Take an adjustable/crescent wrench and loosen that big compression looking fitting. Once loose, the egr valve should come off with the tube attached. Don't bother trying to remove the tube from the valve itself, chances are you'll break one or the other. Clean out the valve and tube assembly with carb/choke/TB cleaner and reassemble with new gasket. |
