Hi everyone,

So I installed a HID kit on the car's fogs and I paired it with a HID 12v relay as I am unsure as to whether or not the OEM stock switch wiring can handle the current draw on initial HID start-up. The trouble I'm running into is that when I turn on the fogs sometimes the passenger side turns on and the driver side doesn't and sometimes the driver side turns on and the passenger side doesn't and sometimes they both turn on and sometimes neither of them. Yes i know.. very tempermental.

Playing with the switch eventually turns them both on but I'm wondering if I made a mistake with the wiring which is leading to this issue?

I have attached the installation diagram as reference if you can spot any problems. the OEM foglight switch is inside the car.

Thanks much in advance.

something doesn't look right with your relay. Both your lights should come off the same output pin, and the relay coil should go directly to ground. hang on a sec I'll draw up a diagram of what I am picturing

It should look like that. The relay has to be grounded....it almost looks like your relay is getting its ground through your ballasts.

its a little crude but you should be able to decipher. Use the stock switch output to trigger your relay. Any 12V relay will work they are all essentially the same thing...even your fancy HID one

Honestly though sounds to me like a bad connection or a cheapass Chinese HID kit from ebay....I would guess the latter amirite?
