i got a 94 stock gt with 204k. the problem is when I let the car sit overnight or for a couple of hours its a real problem to turn it back on. I cant figure out exactly what it is.
My story is the distributor, plugs, wires fuel pump and filter are about 2 1/2 yrs old.
I thought it was ignition coil cuz I was doing some researching on here and replaced it. Still having same problem, fuel pump still primes when you turn key and fuel is still passing through filter. I know its a fuel problem because when I turn the key the car wants to turn on and if I press the gas pedal as if I was reving it the car barely turns on and stutters at first but then idles fine, she then runs fine, if I turn off car then turn it back on there is no problem. its only when it sits for a while and cools off.

** over the past week I cleaned the iacv and TB....but problems started before that's why I cleaned out TB area.
As well as seafoamed the car(1/3 thru vaccum less than 1/3 thru oil due to high miles, and more than 1/3 thru gas.).

So cold starts, it won't turn on unless you press the gas pedal all the way? But on warm/hot starts, it'll start up perfect?

Any CEL? Could check the timing? Or reset the air:fuel ratio.

Sometimes it can be something simple: check the inside of the distributor cap. If the seal in the distributor shaft is leaking, oil can make its way inside the cap. If there's enough oil, it can reduce or block the ignition pulse. On a running engine the oil's prevented from settling by the spinning rotor, and being thin from the heat is less capable of interfering with the signal.

I never bothered to rebuild my distributor when I experienced this issue, I just take the cap off every few months and clean the inside. Note this is a separate issue from an oil leak through the O-ring around the distributor shaft, which will allow oil to leak down the side of the cylinder head.

Another thought would be to check the engine coolant temperature sensor. Unlike early 5SFEs, the sixth-gen Celica doesn't have a separate cold-start injector system. Instead, it relies upon a temperature reading from the ECT sensor to switch fuel maps.
