HELP! Actuator is not functioning and the door is stuck shut.
How the HELL.. do you get the door open? |

This won't be fun, but it's doable.
Assuming you mean the manual controls won't work, the typical issue is that a rod in the door latch mechanism has popped out of one of the plastic clips. Get a coat hanger, or a similar gauge wire, and cut/bend yourself a piece with a one-centimetre J on one end for catching and pulling at the rods and an L bend at the other to give you something to hold so you can turn the wire and know which direction the J hook is facing. Then, well, you go fishing. The top rod controls the latch, while the bottom rod controls the lock. Sometimes the issue is that the rods between the inner door handle, which includes the power lock mechanism, have separated from the rods at the actual latch. The rods at the latch run vertically, but have a horizontal bend at the upper end which you can catch in order to pull them. |
