Hello,
Next week i'm recieving my C160 gearbox with LSD from the AE111 Levin. It comes with the shifter cables and lever. I have some questions though, hopefully someone can answer them. 1) Can i use my C52 shift cables and lever or do i absolutely need to change them? 2) Can i use my C52 axles? 3) Do i need special LSD oil, normal gearbox oil or whatsoever? 4) what should i need more? For example use a 'TRANSAXLE OR TRANSMISSION ASSY & GASKET KIT (MTM)'? 5) Do i need to adapt the shifter box to be able to reach the reverse gear? Thanks! -------------------- |

Inner CV joints are different. You may end up needing to purchase a set of 00-05 GTS axles for an LSD car strictly for the inners.
I don't see you needing to swap cables and shifter box. Kseries guys that go from the A3 box to a A2/Z1 box just do the trans swap. Just make sure there's not a reverse lockout wherein one would have to push down or something like in VWs. That might be your only downfall. You only need a gasket kit IF you crack open the case. I would definitely run gear oil optimized for LSD, along with a friction modifier (commercially available). I assume it mounts the same to the crossmember and frame, so maybe new trans mount and motor mounts as a precaution. You're in there. You might need to buy a new clutch disk if the spline counts are different. I can't confirm or deny that however, but I have a friend who can. Best of luck, this should make the ST move a little faster with the better ratios. |

I know the C60 had different axles and bellhousing, but does this also count for the C160? -------------------- |
