So This is just the progress of my car it started off horrible. Fell in love with my car when I went to check it out had a cracked axle and 2 broke wheel bearings. Thing basically went off roading in an accident and had a cheap paint job. Started off white, then I plastidipped white paint over it (big mistake) sprayed the rims black, replaced a really bad fender, sprayed the rims black, lowered the car with eibach sportlines. Then sprayed her black added a lip nicer radio kicker 4 kicker speakers and mtx subs

Yeah it was real bad. I spent about an hour and a half under my car sanding it and then bondoing it before I painted her black. I cant believe some kid in my automotive class had the nerve to call me a ricer.. Then again he called a stanced audi a4 and 20lbs boosted gti ricers too. Me and those other 2 kids are the only ones who work on our own cars. This kid claims to have a camaro but doesnt drive it to school. I hate kids who talk crap like that. My friends were tellin me I should just rig a co2 purge to my car and mess with him and never let anyone see under the hood of my car. Well atleast until I get my dealership sponsorship that pays decent then I can afford the 3sgte swap

mess with him

You could also ignore someone who clearly has no idea what they're mouthing off about. Or, fix it directly and grind his molars into a curb, then post pictures.

I feel sorry for you guys that have to deal with snow.... Rusts the crap out of all metal exposed kindasad.gif
Then again, here in Aus, we have the opposite problem... I've seen dashboard melt, things left on dashboard melt, cars catch fire and paint fade reallly bad all from out summers >.<

And I would ignore that kid, work on your car build her into a monster and then if you ever see them again show them how ricer they actually are with a boss Celica biggrin.gif

Thats the plan. Although I'm just weighing prices and buying a manual one is just so much cheaper than doing the manual swap. I've toyed with the idea of nitrous and turboing. I mean if I dared turbo with an automatic trans I figure 4lbs of boost wouldnt hurt I would be going to a shop for the tune. If I blew it I'd probably use my car for parts and buy a manual 6gc. I mean the celica just handles better than a lot of other cars I've been in with comparable body style.

How bad was the rust after you got up close when you were painting? I would be tempted to just stick with what you've got for a bit and keep your eye out for a manual GT with no serious rust and a clean body and use that as a platform to build off. If you had the cash, you could keep your current one for a daily if you wanted to keep the new one off the road for a bit to do a swap or some other engine work. I also think fun per $$ wise, getting a manual one is better value than turboing an automatic (which is also a lot more expensive than it may seem).
